Dear friends of FAIR, I am writing today to announce the departure of our colleague, Dr. Carrie Mendoza. After serving nearly three years as Director of FAIR in Medicine, it was mutually agreed that the time was ripe for her to explore other opportunities. Dr. Mendoza has been a valued member of FAIR since its earliest days, initiating leadership in advancing FAIR’s ethical, pro-human approach to the practice of medicine. We deeply appreciate her invaluable contributions and wish her much success in her future endeavors and continued pursuit of our shared goals.
This is sad news to me. It's great for Carrie and I'm not surprised she is "exploring other opportunities." Having been invited on Andrew Doyle's Free Speak Nation to weigh in on the WPATH Files and other venue's made me start to think that Carrie was getting much deserved exposure. I will miss Carrie at Chapter Leader meetings. There are big shoes to fill. Success, Dr. Carrie Mendoza!
Dr. Mendoza's efforts have made FAIR a significant voice in trying to get US medical organisations to follow medical best practices and to stop the widespread harm to trans identified young people currently underway.
Hopefully, the new director will be tolerant of other people's viewpoints. I have not found that to be true in the past. There is a big need for tolerance and respect for open debate (classically liberal qualities) among the leadership of FAIR.
Monica, I have great faith in your commitment and ability to do this search right. I didn't follow Dr.Mendoza,, so I do not know what opinions, if any, she expressed during the covid pandemic about people who chose not to take the shots Biden pushed. I did, however, note, with great dismay, that at least one of FAIR's founders, Bari Weiss, made snide comments about how foolish she thought people who were skeptical of the efficacy and safety of the shots were. Her words dripped with the snobbery of the coastal elite towards people who deviated from the Biden administration's mandate Groupthink. In my mind, that was a sign of intolerance, something I believe FAIR opposes.
I’m grateful to Dr. Mendoza for her leadership, integrity and courage. While her departure will be a loss for FAIR, I wish her all the best in future endeavors.

Sounds like the perfect job for Dr. Martin Kulldorff or Dr. Vinay Prasad!

It is a terrible loss for FAIR.

I agreed with almost all of her work, so I hate to hear this. I hope whoever replaces her will be in line with FAIR values, including Dr. Mendoza's.
What a complete loss. Deeply disappointed in this change.

So glad to read that FAIR will be broadening its scope on issues surrounding psychotropic medications.
Cautiously optimistic
