My youngest son went to an Arts High School, went on to get a dual major in English/Linguistics, but he hasn't been comfortable enough to continue writing and doesn't want to put time and soul into something he knows won't be published even if it's perfect. He graduated with those degrees in 2020. He went back to school and picked up 2 other Master's degrees to hedge his bets. He is running our family business with my husband right now, but he's avoided his ability to be creative. It's such a shame because he was winning state awards for his writing in high school and college. I'd like for him to be able to indulge again one day.
