in the white liberal fantasy, every day is a march on selma where they get to reenact one of their greatest triumphs--leading a grand march of liberation on the road to their always just-over-the-next-hill Utopia. basically, white liberals (and the media producers who cater to and flatter them) deeply need black people to be eternal victims so they can be eternal saviors.
that's why these beliefs are impervious to facts, reason, logic etc--they are not grounded in reality but entirely THEOLOGICAL.
