Friends of FAIR,Â
It is with heavy hearts that we write to you this afternoon. The leadership of the Foundation Against Intolerance & Racism is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Richard Bilkszto. Richard was involved in the early stages of establishing FAIR in Canada and we are grateful to him for all of his efforts. He volunteered first with the Ontario Chapter and then took the lead in establishing a chapter in Toronto. Richard continued to uphold FAIR principles by supporting school board candidates in promoting pro-human policies and bringing people together around our common humanity. As a teacher, he was passionate about public education that provided the best possible opportunities for ALL students and was a brave voice in defending equal opportunity within his school community. Our thoughts are with his family and closest friends as they grieve.Â
Richard’s passing serves as a sobering reminder of the importance of community and supporting those around us who are courageous enough to stand firm in their beliefs. Let us honor Richard’s memory by reflecting on the kind, brave, hard working person and educator that he was.Â
Richard’s attorney, FAIR advisor Lisa Bildy, has released a statement with the permission of Richard’s family. You can read their statement here.
This is the very real, very cruel and terribly punishing cost of the radicalized woke tyranny…this suffering is undeserved and represents a gross injustice that must not go unchallenged.
I hope for comfort and strength for his family and friends. And, I hope justice is still served.
