I *love* the new history & civics class. It may be a hard slog getting schools to adopt it, though, as the new regime is as hostile to honest and balanced history as the old one was.
Agree. It's important to resist divisive, identity-based ideology, but neither should we encourage patriotic propaganda. I think many people are weary of the pendulum swings and will be open to a sensible option that strives for the middle ground.
That's why I hope you have a strategic plan for getting those in charge of education to adopt it. The new University of Austin (I think that's the name?) might help...they formed *specifically* to address the lack of balance in college education (and you could ding the conservative religious colleges too for that).
